I’m a Miss January calendar girl!

I’m in the middle of touring, but had to drop in and post this link to the new Sisters in Crime calendar, which is now on sale.  It’s a fundraiser for the New England chapter, and here I am on the January page, along with sisters (and brother) crime writers Kate Flora, Lea Wait, and Jeremiah Healy.  (He’s the stiff on the table.)  We had a great time shooting the photo, which was done in my local hospital morgue.  Jerry Healy was a very good sport about stripping down and lying on that icky table.

More blogging when I get home in two weeks.  Right now I’m trying to figure out how to fit two weeks’ worth of clothes, plus a ton of promotional handouts, into one medium sized suitcase.

Looking at that photograph, it looks as if dear Jeremiah took his role a little bit too literally! Great picture, gave me visions of Dr Maura Isles….

What a fun idea! Tess, you did marvelous, you should model some more!
On the side note I love your blog. I was looking for an honest, open and fun writer’s blog for a long time and I enjoy yours so much!

Looks like you guys had a good time shooting this photo, lol. Looks great! Reminds me so much of some of the scenes from your novels.

Oh, I was wondering…I just found one of your books the other day. It’s one of those “Two in one” deals. There is Call After Midnight, and Under The Knife. I’ve never seen these advertised before, and it lists quite a few others available. Were these novels that you had worked on previously in your life, and are just getting out to be published, or are they just less recognizable compared to your current works? Either way…the book is a great read! Thumbs up!

Very nice “Maura Isles” photo. I’ve just finished reading Mephisto Club along with two of my friends. The first novel that I’ve read was Body Double. After that, I was hooked. In addition to BD, I’ve read The Surgeon, Life Support and Vanish. I still have a few more of your books to read and I know I’ll enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed reading those mentioned.

    Yay, Tess! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

There’s a song called “Calendar Girl”, but I’m blanking out on everything but the melody tonight.

Angi, I thought that the book was just awesome! I’m going to start looking for the others listed inside the cover. I’m not sure where I’m going to find them though. Maybe I’ll just look around online. The only thing I can do is keep my fingers crossed that they’ll show up somewhere.

    Hi Tess,

It’s me, Abe. I know this is dated Oct 13, but it was a thrill meeting you on October 15th at the Great Read tea. Your kindness and sweetness are just 2 of your fine qualities. I enjoy emailing with you and I encourage your readers to keep reading books from the best author out there – Ms. Tess Gerritsen. Enjoy the rest of your tour. As Ralph Kramden always said: “Baby, you’re the greatest”!

I bought my calander! Awesome, since I haven’t gotten my 2007 calander yet and my birthday is in January! 🙂 I noticed you don’t have your website listed under “MEMBERS”, just under the calander information.

    Ha, ha,
I just noticed Angi, we’ve kind of been making comments on our ouw replies here, since the previous blog entry by Tess. Kind of funny. Anyways, Go Tess Go! hehe

Is it just me or does anyone else miss her when she’s away? Why don’t we all sneak behind the couch and shout “surprise” when she’s back on-line?!
Seriously though, whatever you’re doing Tess, hope it’s going well.

John, no it’s not just you. I had the great pleasure of meeting Tess 2 weeks ago, and she is as sweet and kind as she is talented. I find myself going to her blog at least 3 times a day, even though I know she’s on the road. So to all those of you out there, let’s hope she has a speedy and safe return. She is genuinely missed.

Tess, I’m having real difficulties getting my hands on a copy of Vanish in paperback. All the book shops I’ve checked explain they’d been expecting delivery sometime in September but as yet they’ve had nothing. I’ve checked Borders, Waterstones and WH Smith amongst others here in the UK.
Is there a problem higher up the supply chain or are you as surprised by this as the Stores are? Have any other UK readers been able to get a copy?
Also, have you at this stage got any idea when the Mephisto Club will go on sale over here?
    Waiting patiently behind the couch
